It’s Friday, it’s the end of the working week and all you want to do is get home and put your feet up. No one wants to think about having to cook a full blown meal. This is why Friday in many households is know as the #takeaway day, well in fact most weekends are the busiest time for takeaways as people want to enjoy their time off from work at the weekend and order in something easy to eat in the comfort of their living room whilst watching films for the rest of the evening.

Phone for your Takeaway

Many takeaways ask you to phone through to order your takeaway, whether you are collecting or having it delivered. The only problem with phoning is that it can take a while to phone through, especially if it is at a busy time such as at a weekend. The other problem with phoning is that you can be misheard therefore your order may be wrong or it may be ready for a different time than the time you requested. It is always important to get the takeaway to read your order back to you to make sure that it is correct.

Ordering Online

Many takeaways which have online websites with their menu, also allow you to order your meal online. Some websites are not mobile responsive so can therefore be a little bit more difficult to use on a smart phone. The best way to order online is to be at home with your laptop on or ordering from your computer at work before you leave to go home. Online ordering is a good way of ordering as your order will be exactly what you inputed into the site and shouldn’t be wrong. You can also choose to either collect or have your takeaway delivered to your home, whichever suits you most.

Ordering through an App

Ordering through an App is the best way to order your takeaway, especially if it is a Smart Restaurants App. The Smart Restaurants App allows you to download the App to your favourite takeaway, that is if your takeaway has a Smart Restaurants App. Once you have downloaded the App you can then log in to reveal the menu. You can then order directly from the menu by adding what you want your basket. The great thing about the Smart Restaurants App is that you can order before leaving work, you can order on the move or you can order when you get home. The other great thing about the Smart Restaurants App is that you can request a specific time for your takeaway to be ready to collect or to be delivered. You can also make special requests in the note section so that if you want a Vegetarian Pizza without olives the takeaway will know to not add olives to your pizza. With the Smart Restaurants App you will also earn loyalty points, meaning over time you will be able to add your points together and redeem either a special discount or something for free.

Collection or Delivery?

Ultimately we would all love to wait at home for our takeaway to arrive as it is the easiest way to start your weekend off. You can relax with your family, friends or partner in suspense for your food to arrive. The only problem with delivery is that there is quite often a long waiting list, this is not only because of the amount of people that have ordered but because they have to also deliver to the majority of those people. Delivery times on average can take about 45 – 60 minutes which can be a long wait when you are really hungry. Sometimes it is just as easy to order your takeaway and then drive to go and collect your takeaway.

Whichever option you decide to go for, make sure you enjoy your Friday night with your favourite takeaway watching your favourite films! Have a great weekend!
