With less than 4 weeks to go until Halloween, Smart Restaurants have put together some more smart ideas for you use for the build up to Halloween. When you were younger did your parents jokingly say that you were eating worms when you were eating a spaghetti bolognese? Today we look at what you can do with spaghetti and other types of pasta turning the slimy worm like food into spooky halloween meals.

Spaghetti and Eyeballs

A Halloween version of the classic spaghetti and meatballs dish. This is a really simple dish to make by turning your meatballs into eyeballs. Serve your meatballs (eyeballs) as usual and then add sliced olives to each meatball to make them look like eyeballs.

Mummified Stuffed Peppers

Mummified stuffed peppers are a simple meal to make for Halloween. Slice your desired peppers in half, scoop out the seeds inside the peppers and then fill your peppers with a filling of your choice. A simple ratatouille mix is nice and compliments the taste of the peppers. Once you have added your filling wrap your peppers in spaghetti and enjoy. Add small balls of cheese as eyes.

Pappardelle with Eyeballs

A vegetarian version of the spaghetti with eyeballs. This time a thicker type of pasta has been used with pappardelle, however spaghetti or tagliatelle could both be used. Use a basic tomato pasta sauce and then top with your choice of eyeballs. You could use large balls of buffalo mozzarella or you could use boiled quail eggs. Add sliced black olives for the centre of the eyeball.

Jack O’ Lantern Stuffed Peppers

You can turn your peppers into Jack O’ Lanterns by scooping out the centre of the peppers and cutting out some eyes and a mouth. Fill your peppers with spaghetti and a simple tomato sauce and let the filling ooze out of your peppers to create a simple Halloween meal.
